April 20 to 26

The weeks started off yucky for photos because of the rain but the end of the week was glorious for anything actually.... For the life of me I am not sure why but I am still marking May instead of April... so if you see a May where it is not suppose to be it is actually April until the end of the week anyway.. he he

April 20, 2009
The Yellow Gross beaks are back and as you can see as hungry as ever... but they are scared very easily even when I am in the house snapping photos...
April 21, 2009
The water has brought the snow down so much that we are seeing more and more of our flower beds... and as you may notice some much needed work on some of the lawn decorations... this one has been coming apart for some time and I have been repairing it for a few years but don't want to put it in the dumpster because my cousin made it...
April 22, 2009

The pathway to the end of our land is starting to show more and more every day... on both sides of it are flower beds that we still can't see as of yet but I am sure if the weather keeps going like it is they will be coming to life very soon...

April 23, 2009

These are steps that Carl made this winter for a friend... and he had to show them to us the other day....

April 24, 2009

Kailen trying out her bike after Carl and her worked on it most of the afternoon... so now she can peddle her back side to work when I don't want to get up in the morning... and it is not raining...
April 25, 2009
An old barn that has fallen... note to Robin just in case you are still looking at the photos still... Can you tell me whose barn this is? The only hint I am giving you is I took this from the road... as I was driving back home...

April 26, 2009

It always surprises me when I get one of these photos... but we were driving home tonight and coming out of the clouds was a jet and I had to stop and take a few more shots....
Well that is it for a few more days.... I have a few places in mind of going this week and one of them is on the 1st of May to watch the fishermen going out for their first load of lobster as it is the beginning of lobster season come Friday and don't you worry I am getting my feed that day come hell or high water... ohhh love those little suckers... ohhh not little big ones LOL...
Have a great one all... Joanne
Oh yes more photos on my other blog tomorrow... of other things I snapped this week along my travels... http://melansonnews.blogspot.com/ just in case you want to see more.. .Jo

April 14th to 19th

It has been almost a week since I have taken the time to upload photos but it has been a busy week last week so there has not been a lot of time... this morning as I wait for my much hated dentist appointment I thought I should do it to pass the time away...

April 14, 2009
Miss Maggie, our baby of the family is a very active little puppy... but to slow her down to nothing we just have to put on this little harness to make her walk properly... she hates this thing with a passion and refuses to move when we put it on her... but if we don't she will pull the arm off any one who is on the other end of it...

April 15, 2009
Another trip to the harbour which is not all that far since it is along the way to the west part of town.... the water is finally opening up... but will it be all out before May 1 to start our much loved lobster season...
April 16, 2009

My father has had this bird in his tie flying room for years and decided to put it out near the bird feeder this week... I am not sure if it was to scare of the pigeons or to get the little birds to come to the feeder but mom believes that it is to scare them off because there has not been a lot of them around since Flo put it up for dad...

April 17, 2009

A trip up to Pabineau Falls only to find that the ice had already broke in the river...I should have been there sooner... this was taken at the mouth of Pabineau Brook over the bridge...

April 18, 2009

I have not seen this little fellow in a long time so when I was dropping his mom off on Saturday I thought I would take a minute to go in and get some little hugs from him only to find him fast asleep.. dirty face and all... Nanny Garrett ran him ragged that morning... maybe next time...

April 19, 2009

I don't know how many times I went running for the camera to get this photo and by the time I got back or was just leaning over the table in the kitchen to focus the camera the mourning doves would take off on me but I final was able to take several shots of them yesterday afternoon... maybe it is because the puppies were not around to scare them off...

April 20, 2009

This is not my photo .. it was taken way too early in the morning for me to be up to even see it... actually I would have not even noticed it around if I was up.. Carl took this one... across the street from our dining room window... it is a rare sight to see one around the house even this time of the year...

I just notice that I marked all of these photos of if they were taken in May... actually this is the second time I have done this... wondering if I want April to go by faster then what it is because I want to get into my garden now then later... but it is almost next to impossible since there is still way too much snow in the yard to start actually doing spring things... ohh well it will come soon enough... then you may never see me here.... Have a great one ... Joanne

April 12 and 13th

April 13 and it is a winter wonder land out there... and they call this spring...

I have always been a Kodak person and when we went out to get my first digital camera I got at the time the top of the line with Kodak a 4.0 mega pixel and when the 5 came out I picked it up for Carl... and for several years we snapped very happy with these cameras but I am abusive with my things... stuffing them in my purse or throwing it into the back seat of the car for days on ends... dropping it several times accidently of course but all the less dropping it.... last year when I decided it was time for a new camera Kodak didn't have anything around here that I wanted or was looking for which was strange because I always don't know what I am looking for...that is when I picked up the coolpix P80 by Nikon.. I was not happy with it at all until I discovered the sports mode on it...ohhh heck what a feature for me... and as I played with it more and more I learned more and more about it and actually like it quite a bit... but this morning after breakfast I picked up Carl's Kodak and realized how much I missed the camera... so today's photo was snapped from the oldy but goody....

April 12, 2009

Yesterday the wind was unreal for Easter along with the snow... and as we were going home from dinner we drove down to Salmon Beach turn to see the water.. and boy was it wild... and sports mode was handy last night this is one of over 100 photos I took while sitting watching the waves splashing against the rocks... I wouldn't get out of the car for these photos it was way too cold... hoping that summer time I can get more of them...

April 13, 2009

This is our Lilac in the front of the yard...I took a few photos of it and Carl mentioned that the Christmas lights were still hooked up so I did them again with the lights on... a winter wonderland in the middle of April... go figure...

More of this morning photos at http://melansonnews.blogspot.com/

Have a great day ... Joanne

April 7 to 11

It has been an interesting week for snapping photos... there have been a few days that I have just taken off and when out looking around the town and ended up with a lot more photos then I needed for my little project.. actually had a hard time to pick with ones I really wanted to post...
April 7, 2009

Last week every time I went to get my XL Tea at Tim's I watched as this boat appear from the winter snow... it has been there for a few years not being put into the water come the summer time... as it is lays there rotting away with no one caring about it...

April 8, 2009

Kailen has been staying at the house for a while now and have spent many nights watching television making jewelry and for it to be photoed and I like the way this one turned out...
April 9, 2009

The harbour is starting to clear out of ice and out little duck are coming back and enjoying the open waters once again...

April 10, 2009

I was taking photos of some of Pa's little animals that come to visit his feeders and I turned and snapped as Matthew was throwing a snow shovelful and I actually caught it... so cool...

April 11, 2009

On April 6th I was out and about and took a few photos of the open waters of the Nepisiquit River around the Basin and today as I was driving by the opened waters was now jammed up with blocks of ice... actually the river's water was running on the land owner's land on the opposite side of me...

Added Note:

This is not a photo actually I scanned it... another piece by Kailen... last summer I took a few pictures of my mom's tiger lilies and hung a few of them around the house... she picked one that she liked and drew it and I had to show how wonderful job she had did of it...
The next trip is up to Pabineau Falls it has been a while since I have been up this time of the year but a young couple I met this afternoon in my travels said that we are able to get up there... it has been a long time since I have been able to take photos of this area and I am looking forward to this little trip...
Have a wonderful night and Happy Easter... Joanne

April 5 - 6

I traded my purse in for my camera bag this week so it seems that I have no excuse for not taking a photo at least once a day but I find myself going out of the way to take photos with the camera with me all the time.. .the only thing I do have to remember to charge my batteries every once in a while or I will find myself in the same situation as I did last night at my dad's birthday party... so rechargeable and both of them dying on me...

April 5, 2009

Salmon Beach turn as the water opens up... always love this time of the year and getting to take photos of the mini ice bergs as I call them...

April 6, 2009
On the way to the hospital this afternoon I noticed that the Nepisiquit River was starting to open up so off I went to snap a few pictures... I am sure I will be going out looking for other areas of the river to see if they are open and snap some more...

Well that is is for now... I am surprised I am actually keeping up with this recently... Joanne

April 3-4

April 3, 2009
Friday after the morning in the hospital with mom I decided to head out for a drive around down and down towards the beaches to see what I could see and of course take photos of... I took some good ones but this is the one I liked the most ... it is at the end of the line of newer barns of a local farmer not too far from me... I also wanted to get a few photos of some of the snow that was left because after today and all the rain the snow is quickly disappearing... soon it will be garden time... I say crossing my fingers...

April 4, 2009
I think this is called Silica Sand... really cool stuff... we found it in a discount bin at Staples one day and Carl thought it was cool... it glows in the dark well not all that much but it does... I was bored this morning cleaning my camera getting it ready to take some photos for my sister and snapped this...

March 30 to April 1

I was out once again with the camera so there are a few out of the house photos but not all that many... things were interesting around here this week...

March 30, 2009

Over to Opa's learning some more about his past... Matthew tagged along...

March 31, 2009

I went out for a drive the other night and actually had my camera with me... Indian Island.... I wanted to get a couple of shots before the snow and ice was all gone...

April 1, 2009

Today there is two photos...

I got a call from my niece asking once again to come down to scrap book with me... of course I said sure... her husband was coming with her... which is never a problem... so we scrapped book and the boys

sat around and had a few... a couple of them it was a few too many... it was one of the most interesting scrap booking evenings I ever had.. I have to say... I also heard through the grape vines that someone not saying which one was never drinking again... it is terrible when those young fellows try out do the old fellow ha ha...

Well that is it for now... with the weather warming up and I am not worried to leave the camera in the car while I am out and about because the weather is not so cold at the moment I am sure there will be quite a few photos from around the place... of course that will stop once again when the weather gets to hot to leave anything in the car...
Have a good night Joanne
